ABOUT
Originally from Amherstburg, Ontario, Carmen Leardi is a dancer, choreographer, director, actor, and instructor. Carmen's current work moves her around the province of Ontario.
​
Carmen loves all things movement-related, and has trained extensively in ballet, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, jazz funk, tap, and modern, as well as Gaga, heels, house, salsa, and samba.
​
Carmen has facilitated dance workshops across the province, where “the energy she brings is similar to that of a gulp of fresh air”. Her students and her “outstanding choreography” has been recognized on stages across Canada and the US.
​
Past company work includes Operations (1945-2006): Movements (Boundary Conditions/Performance Assembly), and The Digital Dimension (Proper Etiquette).
​
Recent work on film includes her self-produced short film, Sea son o f Se v e n Lov es (CBC Absolutely Canadian), and Mike Hargreaves’ upcoming music video, “Let It All Out”.
​
Other career highlights include, performing live with “Weird Al” Yankovic, dancing for six hours straight in Nuit Blanche Toronto, and that one time Martha Nichols (The Greatest Showman) called her “amazing”.
​
Carmen has recently completed coaching the first session of her new training program, “Total Technique”, and directed summer musicals for campers at Camp Tamakwa, in Algonquin Park.
​
Carmen is a graduate of Randolph College for the Performing Arts.
